We are a socially responsible company: in our decision-making process, we assess the impact of our actions on the community, workers, and the environment, incorporating their interests into processes and results. Our environmental commitment is at the heart of our operations, as we defend a sustainable business model, optimising processes, integrating quality criteria, and prioritising care for the environment in every decision while involving the social community in our shared commitments.
We prioritise hiring local people, ensuring the growth and conservation of the rural area in which we are located. Occupational risk prevention is another one of our commitments, reflecting our dedication to both social responsibility and environmental stewardship.
We our founding patrons of this entity that raises awareness, educates, preserves and conducts research on such an emblematic animal as the Cantabrian Brown Bear.
It was created in 1992 and its headquarters are located in Proaza, where they receive thousands of visitors each year. They offer environmental training for students, associations and private individuals. Their tracking work is of great value in scientific research projects.
In January 2016, it was formed via an agreement signed by ANEABE, the organisation we form part of and the Spanish Red Cross. The aim is to manage the supply of water in the event of a natural catastrophe or disaster.
This guarantees sufficient supplies of quality bottled water, which can be delivered quickly and in a coordinated manner across Spain.
Bottled water is highly important in these cases, as it can be easily transported and stored, without the quality being altered until it is consumed.
At Fuensanta, we are constantly working on introducing measures to generate the lowest volume of bottle waste such as gradually reducing the amount of material used to make the bottles. All the bottles and packaging we use are 100% recyclable.
We are aware of all that we owe to nature and we can think of no better way of showing our appreciation than by caring for it and encouraging others to do the same. The earth is in the hands of everyone and we all must do as much as we can to protect it, starting with our surroundings, in our case the Sierra de Peñamayor. We have a protection perimeter, which restricts certain activities from being carried out. We not only comply with minimum requirements, or remain confined to the limits established by law, there is so much to do and Fuensanta wants to form part of this task.
At Fuensanta, we are fully aware and have a firm commitment to the environment, caring for our spring and the surrounding area, managing water resources in a sustainable manner and contributing to the correct environmental management of our bottles.
In 2020, we donated more than 40,000 bottles of water to the most vulnerable groups involved in the fight against COVID-19:
– All hospitals in the region
– Law enforcement agencies Red Cross
– Economic kitchen
– No child without dinner
– Solidarity menus of the Arriondas City Council
– Asturias ambulance network
Our commitment to the environment is not exclusively environmental. We are in Nava and we want to actively participate in sports, cultural and social events. We support specific events, such as the San Silvestre de Oviedo and also projects such as the Cider Museum or different sports clubs.
On June 16, 2018 took place the I FUENSANTA Plogging Walk in which the distance between Cangas de Onís and Covadonga was covered, putting into practice an activity, originated in Stockholm, that unites sport and environmental activism.
In Fuensanta, we believe that if we want a clean and different world, we must act and not let others change the world while we do nothing.
